Historic Meaning From cottage to brewery. McNeill's Cottage in Church Street, Queenstown has an interesting story to tell. James McNeill was a Scotsman who came to New Zealand in his teenage years, later finding himself employment in Queenstown about 1882 as a contractor on the Ballarat Street Bridge. Married in 1885 he built a cottage for his family. Built to last, the original cottage was extended and refurbished in the 1980s ready for a new life as home to the Dux de Lux. |
